Performance art started around in the 1900s where the art movement of Dadaism also happened. Performance art is about an artistic manifestation purely relying on performance. The performance is presented to an audience, mainly for entertainment purposes. There are a few examples of performance art where it shows singing,acting,dancing, opera, mime, public speaking and even magic or illusion performances. The main point of performance art is to convey a message either by something relating to the opposition of the government or the understanding of society. In general, it conveys various messages based on events, issues, criticism, and it’s all based on art, expressionism, or improvisation

There are many individuals who have contributed the existance of performance art such as Nam June Paik, Joseph Bueys, Chris Burden.Yves Klein, Caroline shceemena, Vito acconici and many other artists. But the one person who is considered the most important artistis is Jospeh bueys. Joseph Henrich Bueys is a performance artist, he is also an artist and teacher. Beuys has contributed performance art with the creation of happenings to which he is a key figure. Happenings is a performance art that happened during the 1950s, improvisation was mainly an important factor to this event in which it requires an active participation from the audience

Nam June Paik, who also contributed the existence of performance art, made a piece about a woman playing the cello but it's filled with televisions.
Joseph Bueys made a piece called I like America and America likes me where he locks in a room with a Coyote.
Jose Villalobos, a Mexican American artist, performs a piece called Ni de aqui,Ni de alla,pero siempre regreso arrestado. It means neither from there nor from there but I always returned arrested. It talks about the experience of deportation in the point of view of Mexicans.
